Forced marriage is wrong. In June 2014, the UK Government criminalised forced marriage when it introduced a new law under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 making the practice illegal. Forced marriage is a serious human rights violation and both UK and international law acknowledge this. If you or someone you know is at risk of a forced marriage then you should seek help.
